Friends of the Needy was established in 1994 as an association of laity and clergy to put into practice the spirituality of Blessed George Matulaitis (1875-1927).
Blessed George believed that a deep life of union with God led inevitably to an active life of service to those in greatest need, and serving the needy would draw us closer to God.
Friends of the Needy offers resources for those who are interested in deepening their spiritual life, organizes projects to serve the needy, encourages volunteering and offers practical and spiritual support to those who in their professional work or life circumstance are caregivers.
A way for those needing help to have fresh produce and to shop at a local food center. Staffed jointly by Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and First Congregational Church, Sundays, Noon to 3pm, at the MHR Parish Center.
A resource for information and inspiration for volunteers and caregivers, lifting spirits and raising hopes.
